Sabbath Day Observance-Counsel From our Leaders

As you all know we have been hearing more counsel from our prophets during General Conference in the last few General Conferences.  In June we began receiving more training in ward councils about observing the Sabbath.  In an interview I heard, Elder Ballard of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles “explained that Church leaders have felt the importance of encouraging families and individuals to rethink and refocus their efforts on what they do on the Sabbath day. ‘Our whole desire is that throughout the Church, we focus our Sabbath day worship on the Lord,’ he said.”  

There are two training segments, the first you probably received in June ward council and the second has been or will be in July.  This training was first received by the Seventy during General Conference 2015. Our stake president received his training from the area seventy and trained the stake leaders and bishops. Bishops are training in ward council and planning how it will be passed on to members of our wards.
